Hello George,
We love Web IE which is a suite of Web clients developed in Manchester
England for blind Internet surfers. One of the programs included in this
suite is a podcatcher. There is also an RSS reader as well. If you want to
receive text feeds on a regular basis the RSS reader is what allows you to
receive them on your desktop automatically. Audio and video podcasts are
received via the WebbIE Podcatcher. When you install this software suite you
will have some RSS and Podcasts all ready installed in their respective
programs to get you started.
A nice thing about the WebbIE Podcatcher is that it allows you to
stream podcasts prior to downloading them for your collection or to take on
the road. This is a very nice feature and can go a long way to preserving
real estate on your hard drive. If you want to view or listen to podcasts in
formats other than .MP3 you will need to have other software installed on
your PC that will allow you to access them. Otherwise it's a very easy suite
of programs to use and they're blind-friendly. The URL from which you can
download WebbIE is:

Hope these programs work out for you as they have done for us.

Can anyone recommend a simple and accessible podcasting program that will
allow me to receive RSS feeds? I know absolutely nothing about such stuff,
but keep seeing RSS links all over the place these days.
I'm running Windows XP and Jaws 6.0 if that helps.
