It will prompt you if you want to install it. So I believe that if you allow it to be installed, you'll get a prompt "Yes", "No", "Don't Ask Me Again".

Subject: [gui-talk] avoiding IE 7 update
Trying to help a lady who is running JAWS 5. I understand that version 5 of JAWS will not work with IE 7. Microsoft is placed IE 7 as a critical update which means to me that with automatic updates turned on you are going to get IE 7 installed. When I went to the windows update page it indeed show IE7 as a critical update but does not give you a way to not have it come up every time you go to the update page. The non critical updates offer a option of not showing this update again or hiding it. Is there a way to do this with a critical update?
Will JAWS 5 simply not work with IE7 or is it a case where the latest features of IE 7 wont work?
