Hi Denise, unfortunately I have not seen or heard of this particular display yet, however; as I have not yet seen one or heard much about it I decided to do a little bit of reading.
As someone who uses adaptive technology myself I do like to keep up on new gadgets and technologies even though I do not do any adaptive technology support in my daily job duties.
My search turned up the following reference to it on the FS www site.
http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_support/BulletinView.cfm?QC=255
Basically, I gather from the bulletin that the display you have has both serial and usb connections, unless the latest release of the unit is usb only.
I also gather that it is a German-manufactured gismow so I don't know how easy it would be to find documentation in english or obtain support from the company being that your first language is likely english as well.
Basically what the bulletin says is that this particular display can't be added to jaws as an extra output after the install is completed using maintenance.
If you try this it fails, looks like this has been an issue for jfw since v4.02.
If you already have jaws installed and you try to add and it fails you need to do a complete re-install, this is because the drivers will not install properly unless the EasyBraille is connected to the serial port during the jaws installation to allow the installation to detect the hardware.
I also gather that connecting the HandyTech line of displays via usb is not supported.
Again, I'm just offering a couple of suggestions as someone who decided to read up on this out of interest, I don't own the display in question, good luck, Ed.

Hello all,
My employer has recently purchased an easy braille by handytech for me to
use. I've not ever heard of this display but it was recommended by one of
the dealers in the area. Does anyone know much about it. Our computer tech
guy has installed its software but thus far its not working because although
it's a usb device, jfw wants a comport number. I've tried them all and none
seems to work.
So if anyone knows anything about this device please let me know. Thank you.
