[gui-talk] Dvd drive

Hi all,
I have a dvd player which came with my computer. A friend has given me a dvd
to play on it. When I put the disk in the drive, windows recognizes it by
asking what do I want windows to do. I've pressed play using windows media
player or tand the dvd sound experience which came with the computer. But I
get no audio. She assures me that the dvd played on her husband's computer. 
So shouldn't I be able to get sound when I tell it to play on my computer?
