IN the latest CD I got from APH, which contains their catalogs, and demos of
many of their software packages, there is a description of the BookPort, as
well as a demo version of the software that interfaces the BookPort to a
Windows-Based PC, along with its manuals in MP3 and PDF and HTML file
formats. The BookPort, which is similar in size to a cassette tape, maybe a
little wider, is claimed to be able to support many E-book, and text file
formats, including MP3, HTML, txt, MS-Word .doc files, as well as various
Daisy formats including those from RFB&D, BookShare, and other Daisy
formats. The BookPort physically interfaces to the PC via a USB port. It
might be worth checking out.

I have not seen or used a BookPort, so I am not in any position to give any
review of it, or even an opinion that could be based on anything other than
what I might read about it in its producer's / marketer's /seller's
publicity materials and product documentation.

It might be worth a serious look, though, since it just might be a viable
answer to what you are seeking.
