Hi Alicia and list,

I join with all who have wished you well in your quest.

I believe that Linda's advice is really helpful:  if possible
 .1 look on the 'net'/phonebook for denominations with whose doctrines you 
resonate;
 .2 if possible, read their websites to get some feel for what they stand 
for perhaps hearing a sermon/reading a sermon outline or two.
 .3 If possible arrive under your own steam and give it a couple of weeks 
before asking to speak to the Pastor.
 .4 Talk about your gifts then needs then perhaps ask for a spot so you can 
be introduced to the congregation (unless it's one of those megachurches) 
where you can say what help you'd like and what you don't want done.

In short, take the initiative:  usually we need to do that as pioneers.
