[Faith-talk] Demon posession, and casting out demons

It is very sad that some Christians feel they must push their own
agenda on the subject of demons. There is a debate about whether a
true Christian can be demon-possessed. I personally do not think
that they can.
A Christian might come under the attack of the great enemy of our
souls, but as for a true believer being demon-possessed, I don't buy it.
Some of these also can heal people who are blind--and then when the
healing does not take place, it's the blind person's lack of
faith--not the healer's lack of ability.
I can assure you that I would not attend a church or denomination
that affirmed that blindness itself is a reason to assume
demon-possession. Do they also assign demon-possession to those who
have arthritis, diabetes, angina, etc.?
That whole area of possession-accusation is one just fraught with
oppression of the innocent. When Jesus healed the man born blind, He
never intimated that the man was demon-possessed.
Please don't throw overboard your Christianity just because you've
encountered a minority who are so all-knowing that they can assume
demon-possession for one who is blind or becomes blind.
That's oppression which the Bible says, God hates.
If it were me, I would locate a Bible-believing and teaching
congregation that welcomes all God-fearing, Bible-believing persons,
regardless of a physical disability.
One of our dear Christian friends had Christian parents who were told
that they were cursed because their daughter was born blind. While
such radical opinions can be quite harmful to one who is told such
things, it is the wise Christian who will find fellowship with men
and women of like precious faith. That's what our friend's parents
did. But the accusations that they were to blame for their
daughter's blindness and that they were cursed is a tremendous hurdle
to overcome.
With God all things are possible. I'd better stop.
The Lord guide you to believers with more good Christian common sense
than those you've found so far.
