Subject: Prayer request - Michelle's mom


Michelle's mom went to the hospital this morning for a test called a TEE to look at the back of her heart.  She has been having numbness and some small seizures for the past couple of years.  Originally they diagnosed her with Lupus.  Not sure that this was the actual illness, her new doctor wanted to rule out the possibility of something going on with her heart.

 

During the test this morning (which involved some kind of instrument going down through her throat and into her esophagus), the instrument tore a hole in her esophagus.  Right now, she is in quite a bit of pain and can't swallow very well (and can't eat).  They have been doing tests throughout the day and believe the hole is at the upper part of her esophagus.  She will be staying the night in the hospital.  The doctors should have a better feel for how to proceed by tomorrow.
