[Faith-talk] Valentine's Day

Wow, I feel like I'm on some kind of dating service.
That's quite a message.

Hello Eric, and all,

Eric, just keep praying. There may be someone who fits
right into your rather detailed list of demands. God
knows, not us. As for saying you, "can't take
rejection," well, I'm just glad Jesus didn't ever say
that.

Though it's hard at times, and it's probably not what
you want to hear, have you considered that the single
life may be what God wants of you? What I have been
saying for the last few years (to remind myself) is,
"If it's good enough for the Apostle Paul ("Saint
Paul"), it's good enough for me!" Even if I don't like
it, if God wants it, I'll deal with it the best I can,
you know?

Paul talks of how if we are single, to remain single,
unless we are weak. Better to get married than to sin
and all that, you know? Despite the negativity *this
world* puts on "the single life," if you truly believe
the Holy Bible to be the Inspired Word of God, then God
is saying to us, stay single, unless you are weak and
may sin. Because He can use you better as a single
person, and when we get married, our concerns, our
worries, our thoughts, are split, necessarily so,
between serving God and serving or loving our spouse.
There's plenty in the Bible on being single. Don't
take my word for it on these points. Go and read it
for yourself, in the Bible, please.

Not to you directly here Eric, but to all reading this,
I'll add, no one has any real excuses for not reading
the Bible, if you're on this list. One may not have
access to print, or be able to read Braille, or even
have a working cassette or CD player at the moment.
But if you're reading this message, you can probably
also read the Bible, verse-by-verse and
chapter-by-chapter, at: http://www.biblegateway.com

Anyway, good luck with your future path, and God bless
your efforts, Sir. May He lead you exactly where He
wants you to go, and if your desires and His desires
are not exactly matched up at the moment, I pray He
makes His desires yours. I pray the same for myself
regularly. May God lead you down His narrow path,
blessing you with His Godly wisdom and growing your
faith in Him, each day, day by day.

God Be With You,
Everett
