[Faith-talk] our prayer request

Hello everyone,

We have several situations going on right now we feel we need to summon
the prayer warriors on to ask for God's guidance and resolution of several
issues we're currently dealing with.

The first is of a monetary nature. Mary was owed some money she was told
was sent last week. Thus far the check has not arrived and we have a number
of monthly bills to pay so our home infrastructure can continue to operate
normally. Here's hoping this will be resolved early in the week so we can
get on with enjoying the rest of the month. My signature verse is quite
appropriate as the locusts had had one heck of a feast at our expense and we
want to resolve these matters as soon as possible.

Secondly on the plus side we have Mary's job change and my possible
return to the work force we want you all to keep in your prayers.
As she reported Mary will begin work at the Education Service Center Region
Twenty s a Braille proofreader. It was this job which brought us to San
Antonio in 1989. We're blessed in that she'll be able to resume work doing
what she really loves; Braille production. The next two months will be a
challenge as she won't receive her first full paycheck until the end of
October so do keep this in your prayers that God will make a way for us to
get through this period and resolve our monetary issues.

1990 was a wonderful year for us as Mary was employed at Region Twenty
and I worked at the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind, (SALB) as a small
parts assembler. I used to do lots of jobs there including operating a
threader that placed threads in one end of pencil barrels. My understanding
is that that particular type of pencil is no longer produced by SALB I'm
hoping that I'll be able to do jobs that will challenge me physically and
mentally. I'm going down there on Monday to take a tour, and perhaps to fill
out an application for employment. Unless my Web design business picks up or
I feel another calling I'll work at SALB for now.

San Antonio is blessed to have one of the best-run lighthouses in the
state. By the way these views are shared by several Texas federationists who
were instrumentally involved in unionizing the Houston Lighthouse in the
1980s. If they say it I trust their opinions as they know what they're
talking about having seen lighthouse mismanagement at its worst. Given all
I've done during the past 17 years it's a difficult decision to make, but
perhaps it's a way for God to bless us to help us maintain our current
lifestyle, and to move on to higher ground.

We both appreciate your keeping these matters in your prayers and that
God will work his will in these situations for his glory. both os us will
keep everyone posted on events as they unfold. We very much appreciate your
keeping us in your prayers and thoughts.
