Hi Chelsea,

First, let me welcome you to this list.  I'm glad you're here.  I 
don't know how many Catholics are here.  I'm an Independent Baptist.

I don't know why you asked your mom if you could go to that 
church.  Do you need her permision to do things because you're still 
living with her?  Anyway, what's wrong with dressing up?  That's one 
way we show God respect outwardly.  We women in the church of which 
I'm a part wear only dresses and skirts because we believe the Bible 
commands that women should not look like men.  It's part of being in 
the world, but not of it, and coming out and being separate and holy.

I'm guessing that your mom would have a problem with your going to 
church period.  I'll be praying for you both.
