[Faith-talk] Philippian 4:13?

Hi Lisa, Eric, and all,

That's my life verse!  Philippians 4:13.  It has helped
me many a day, to not give into fear or anxiety or
whatever else the world doles out and thrives on.
Thank you Jesus, for your guidance, your wisdom, and
your grace.

Here are a couple of other versions I've gathered over
time.  My fave still so far is the NIV's. . .

Philippians 4:13
In NIV, KJV, NAS, Young's, & Darby's

Philippians 4:13
New International Version (NIV)
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.


King James Version (KJV)
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth
me.


New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who (A)strengthens me.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
Philippians 4:13
For all things I have strength, in Christ's
strengthening me;


Darby Translation (DARBY)
Philippians 4:13

Anyone got the Message's version?  That's probably
lengthy, like the Amplified version.  They seem to be
similar in many ways.

Now, additionally, the verses before and after make a
great set, along with 4:13. . .

4:12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what
it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of
being content in any and every situation, whether well
fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me
strength.
4:14 Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles.


There are also a few verses in Philippians 4 that go
well with a Christ-follower's life.  Many have become
almost a cliche - being shared so much.  But they are
wise words to us, from God, through His Apostle, Paul:


4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again:
Rejoice!

4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.

4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all
understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in
Christ Jesus.

And 4:8, Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever
is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever
is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is
excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.


"Think about such things."  Yes indeed.  Thank you
Paul, and thank you Jesus!
