why is she not using her cane? Do you know that there are many different
types of canes? Where do you and her live? It be good to find other blind
kids or adults that live in your area to help you and her with this. It be
best to have a straight cane so it is there all of the time and not put it
away. I am blind and live in Seattle Washington area. I work on computers
and member of nfb I go to Newman center prince of piece chapel catholic
church near the university of Washington in Seattle.

Hello All:

Thank you to all those who have already responded. I appreciate the
comments, suggestions, and info and/or links. Currently, my daughter is
unable to use her cane, and unable to read braille. So, braille bibles
aren't going to be of any help. What we've been doing, is having her older
sister attend the service with her as a sighted guide. However, Bek would
like to get away from having "big sis" do this. On the other hand, she
really doesn't want a buddy either. And, she's uncomfortable just going by
herself, as am I only because she's not using her cane right now. There are
stairs and winding hall ways to get to where she is supposed to be each
Sunday morning. I wish there were a blind adult to "show her the ropes" so
to speak and help her and the group she's in become more acclimated, and Bek
more independent. For now, I guess I'll stick with her big sis guiding and
helping her.

Thanks again,Lisalisadee1063 at hotmail.com"I can do all things through Christ
who strengthens me."(Philippians 4:13)
