Hi Chris and list,

Well, Chris, firstly:  praise the Lord for bringing you to a public 
confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus!

I'm not sure how your congregation is structured; however, are you a part of 
a weekly "home group" where you meet to study God's Word and support one 
another?

What hobbies interest you? Could you ask that an "ad" be put in the church's 
bulletin seeking for participants in your hobby--unless it's sleeping in 
front of the tv (smile)?

These suggestions are only a start. It's not clear to me, from your post, if 
you only mean friends from your congregation or whether you are including 
the possibility of moving into other community activities as well.
