Hi, Alicia,

My husband, Chris, and I are both blind, live in Tacoma, WA, and my husband
works as student advisor for Clover Park Technical College in our area. We
have two daughters, 20 and 16.

Chris is a licensed evangelist with Church Of God Of Prophecy, and now we're
attending an assembly of God church and love it. We've been involved in
pastoring and some evangelism and love it.

Congrats on your new job. I started my first teaching job at age 23, and I
remember how exciting everything was.

Blessings.

Judy

Hello, everyone! Linda and Judy, thanks for answering my message! I really
appreciate it!

here's a little about me. I am totally blind, 26 years old, and living in
Iowa. However, I am soon to be moving to Omaha Nebraska, where I just got
hired as a reservations agent for Hyatt Hotels. That move should take place
at the end of September. I was raised Catholic, came to know Christ in an
Assembly of god church in 1995, and then went to a Bible college affiliated
with the Independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. How's that for
a mouthful? the college was Lincoln Christian College, in Illinois. My
major was Family Life counseling. I'm hoping to go back for my Master's
degree, and get licensure as a mental health counselor, to work with at-risk
youth. I'm toying with the idea of getting my Master's from Grace
University in Omaha, depending on how the job goes. Needless to say, that's
in God's hands.

Linda, I too carry my Bible in my BrailleNote, but it's the NIV version. I
remember when I was younger and went to youth conventions where they said,
"Bring your Bible," and I'm thinking, "I will if you have a U-haul for me."
The advent of note-takers is a blessing in that sense!

I hope to get to know more of you.

Alicia
