Hi,
I got a Maytag front load washer and dryer which can be controlled both
with an iPhone app but also the controls on the front of the unit. There
is a dial with a pointer for moving through cycles which is attenuated
and also beeps with each turn and the areas for other touch controls are
square or rectangular shaped so you can feel where to touch to register
your presses.
It was quite easy to learn these and write them out for safe keeping.
The least accessible portion of its app is modifying preferences within
preexisting washer or dryer cycles. Sometimes it can work with VoiceOver
but it is quite hit or miss. But I did like that these units could be
used both with and without their app.
When I purchased model numbers were as follows.
mew8630Ch
Gas dryer
MG8630CH
Note the CH at the end are just color designations change to he for the
white models. And the electric dryer starts with an med instead of mg.
Even if they've changed at least it'd give a reference point for
inquiries for the current versions.
I also know some blind and low vision people who've had good success
with some LG and Samsung models too.
Take good care,
Robin
