I came late to this discussion. Is the bookport working when not hooked
up? Make sure it is working since I have had cases where I was
downloading and it ran out of batteries and wasn't working because it had
to be rebooted itself. Reboot the computer, I am sure you have done
that, and plug the BP in once it is up and talking. Then try picking
bookport transfer from the menu. I assume you have done all that. If
those things haven't worked and your batteries are well charged you may
be in the situation where the bookport has to be sent back. If you did
like I did and actually bought a second one you can only use that second
one for a certain period of time because after a while the beta program
will stop it from working because the software has moved on, although
that is less likely now that the bookport has come to a standstill in
terms of upgrades. If it is not under warrantee in which case you just
send it back, I think it costs about $60 to have it fixed, last I heard
anyway. Hope some of this helps. Last resort. Leave the batteries out
for over a day and then put them back. Might help, probably won't. Good
luck. Kurt
