I have been experimenting with producing motion picture soundtrack as
DAISY digital talking books.
These book include the sound track with the advantages of DAISY in
particular the ability to stop a playback remove the media, play
something else and then return to where you were in the movie at a
later time. You can also book mark locations in the movie, speed up
the playback and so on just as you do with a DAISY book.
I am thinking of also implementing the DVD chapters as well if I can
figure a good way to do that.
I have one movie done in this format "Whisper of the Heart" produced
by Studio Ghibli. I choose it as the story is propelled by the dialog
and less by the visuals. This movie is 1:47:46 land and is reduced to
just over 15 MB when rendered as a DAISY book. The audio is in MP3
format and is named such that it will play in any standard MP3 player
but without the DAISY navigation of course.
I would welcome any thoughts, comments or suggestions.
