Hello,
I have 2 answers.
First I observed that a pen drive could be plugged into the USB connection
inside the slot for the cartridge. Further it could play a file from the
pen.
2. I think the bad news may be that it was a file formatted for the player.
I cannot say that the player will play a standard formatted file, such as
mp3 or WMA. The only thing I can say for certain is that it will accept a
device other than a standard cartridge.

Were you able to tell if these players can access USB media outside of
the cartridges. for example could I place books onto a USB pen drive
and play them?
