Subject: Two Unique Resources

Good Morning,

I trust everyone is doing well and is ready for the upcoming holidays.
Please be safe and take advantage of the time to relax, be "thankful," and
enjoy the time you spend with those for whom you care.

I am sharing two resources today that I find to be unique. They may be of
interest to you and/or to the older adults with whom you serve. Please share
as you can.

1.	Macy's Parade Audio Described

"For the first time in Macy's Parade broadcast history, in an effort to
create a more inclusive experience for blind and visually impaired viewers,
NBCUniversal is proud to present the full NBC broadcast with live audio
description on the Secondary Audio Program channel (SAP), provided by
Descriptive Video Works. This year's broadcast will be available with
additional audio narration, describing the rich visuals of the Parade
including the magnificent balloons, floats, and performances, to complement
the storytelling and celebration that make the Parade an annual Thanksgiving
Day tradition for millions of Americans."

** VOCALEYE ALMOST LIVE WATCH PARTY

Flight Paths

Wednesday, November 25 at 6:30 pm Pacific Time

Flight Paths is an interactive online adventure created by Extant Theatre,
the UK's only professional performing arts company of blind/partially
sighted artists.

Experience a rich multi-sensory world inspired by the Goze, blind female
performers of medieval Japan who travelled around the country recounting
epic tales.

Flight Paths tells the contemporary stories of three performers with sight
loss who migrate to the UK. Living independently in London for the first
time, they each face new challenges with accommodation, language, and
forging their careers and lives. With a virtual Goze to guide us, we will
journey through story, music, and aerial movement to encounter unique
reflections on travel, blindness, and migration with integrated description.
For the best audio experience, you may want to use headphones.

These contemporary stories are based on verbatim interviews with the three
blind artists in the show. We're thrilled to have Sarah Houbolt joining us
to talk about her performance and this interactive, digital adaptation.

The VocalEye virtual lobby opens at 6:30 pm Pacific Time for some pre-show
mingling with host Amy Amantea. The pre-show introduction will begin at 6:45
pm with Ingrid Turk. The show begins at 7 pm.

Running time is approximately 90 minutes including a Q and A with special
guest, Sarah Houbolt zooming in from Australia. BC residents will be entered
to win one of two White Spot gift cards.

Registration is required for first-time guests. Register for your VocalEye
Zoom invitation by contacting events at vocaleye.ca <mailto:events at vocaleye.ca>
or call 604-364-5949. Please let us know where you're from and if you
identify as a member of the blind/partially sighted community or as a
sighted guest. This one-time registration will give you access to all
upcoming Virtual VocalEye events. Registrants will receive a Zoom link and
reminder on the day of the event. Be sure to add us to your contact list and
check your junk folder. If you don't receive your reminder link on the day,
please contact us!

Sarah Houbolt is an internationally acclaimed Australian actor, dancer, and
physical theatre performer who specialises in aerials, acrobatics, hula hoop
and sideshow. In addition to being an accomplished screen actor, Sarah has
toured her award-winning solo show Koo Koo The Bird Girl internationally and
performed with acclaimed companies around the world. In 2018 Sarah was
awarded the Australian Disability Leadership Institute's national Arts
award. Currently, Sarah focuses on making short films and audio works,
including for the Biennale of Sydney in 2020.
