[Colorado-Talk] Thoughts on the Motto Live the Life You Want

I love this if you have the will to do it thing. I have tried to work at shelters for 20 years, 20.

You can have the will to do as much as you want to. But it doesn’t mean that people have to Let you do it. I’m glad you’re able to work with animals. I really really am. You and I are one of the few.

I’m not talking about rescues, I’m talking about going in and dealing with those animals that no one else can.

This thing about if you have the will to do it you can doesn’t work. In fact, that’s sort of the fallacy that I see in some people. Yes, I have the will to work, my body doesn’t therefore I can’t. I have the will to go volunteer places, well, great, if they don’t discriminate automatically because I think you can’t do it because you’re blind.

Desire and will or two different things. I have them both. So it’s not just the will. That’s the kind of attitude within the NFB that I can’t stand.

Instead of preaching about militance and how we shouldn’t be babied. How about working with people that aren’t as fortunate as you. How about helping us learn how to advocate, giving us resources, instead of just preaching and being militant and acting like we want to hand out.
