Hello Brent,
This is Claudia Thomas, volunteer with the AFS foreign exchange student program here in Colorado.

Yesterday I learned that AFS has the opportunity to place an exceptional State Department Scholarship winner from Malaysia who is totally blind.
Ernest is 17 years old and seems to be a very motivated student who is looking forward to learning about the American culture and being an ambassador of his country. He speaks fluent English and uses contracted Braille and white cane, which would make his adaptation process smoother.
I wonder if the CCB could help us do some outreach to see if we are able to find a family interested in hosting him for the second semester (January-June 2018).

A host family needs to provide a bed (own bedroom or shared with host brother), three meals a day and transportation to school.
