Wow! I was a hyoung Federationist in training. I remember well that
building at 17th and Emerson streets! I also rememb er well Judy Miller, and
I followed her suit against the Denver public schools. Judy taught a Sunday
afternoon class for young blind kids at the Jewish Community center back
then. I didn't get to meet Lyle Neff until some 6 years later, when I joined
the NFB of Denver. Dianne McGeorge and Ray were my role models back then.
Yes NFB of Colorado has indeed come a long way Since those days!

I rarely respond to our Colorado Talk though I never miss reading it. All
who contribute do such a great job.

But I have to respond to the one on NFBCO history.
We were a young, struggling affiliate in those days and yet we did a lot for
blind people.
And yes, I remember that snow storm!
The convention brought back so many memories for me and it also emphasized
the tremendous growth we have made over the years.
All right, you 200s and 3-year-olds, now you see what you can do over the
next number of years.
We have so many bright, competent leaders coming along and our president
knows how to develop them and does a tremendous job.
Congratulations to all of us!
Diane

In case you don't know who Ms. Judy Miller was at the time of that
convention...just ask me!
C olorado fought for the right to Judy as a blind teacher to teach in the
Denver public schools. And we won!
Now blind people can teach anywhere in this state and never stop to think
how all that came into being.
So, adain, contraulations to all of us!
