Proposal to Extend Fare Reduction

C-TRAN seeks public feedback on a proposal to extend its current fare
reduction, which was originally implemented as a temporary 12-month
decrease through 2022 to help ease the cost burden of transportation for
those who rely on C-TRAN. If approved, the extension would provide
continued relief for riders through 2023 and possibly beyond.

The current cost is $1 per ride for Local Adult and C-VAN fares, $2.50 per
ride for Adult Express fares, and $0.50 per ride for Local Honored Citizen
fares. All daily and monthly caps, as well as Regional fares remain
unchanged. Youth fares are free for anyone 18 years and under and are not
affected by this proposal.

C-TRAN is holding a public hearing on this proposal during its regular
monthly Board meeting on Tuesday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m. Written comments
are accepted through 12 p.m. (noon) that same day and will be entered into
the public record. Please email comments to <proposal at c-tran.com>

The original fare reduction was partially in response to sales tax
collections exceeding budget projections, as well as additional stimulus
funding.
