This was in today's Columbian newspaper.

Vancouver Mall — Norman Larkin, 58, of Vancouver was named Most Inspirational Client 2017 at the Gold’s Gym annual convention, July 24 to 26 in Las Vegas. Larkin and his trainer, Tylor Fleet, were flown out for the convention so Larkin could receive his award. When Larkin was born, doctors thought he had a lazy eye but later realized he was blind. By going to the gym and working with Fleet, Larkin has lost weight, gotten his blood pressure under control and built up strength in his legs, which were injured after he was hit by a drunken driver who drove up on the sidewalk. “It took eight surgeries to reconstruct both of his legs, broken in multiple places,” Rosina Duckworth, Larkin’s mother, said. “His internal injuries were serious, but he survived. Walking again was a slow, painful process.” After working with Fleet, Duckworth said, her son can now walk up two flights of stairs without stopping and no longer has a limp.
