[Cccnfbw] picnic and upcoming meeting

I don't remember whether Hazel Dell Park has bathrooms or not. Leverich Park
is, if I recall correctly, off 39th Street. Seems to me at one time you had
to cross I5 from the main part of town to get there. I've done it but as I
recall, the intersection isn't absolutely straight.

Connie can chime in here and refresh both our memories.

Mike

it is Ester Short it would be very accessible but other than that I don't
know there are several parks around this area but I don't know how many
tables they have or anything else about them. So Mike is right give us a
suggestion and we'll see. Les F

With respect, I've walked on it before and when we held picnics in that
partk, all of us managed to hike in. Tons of food is quite a draw.

That said, if you can suggest a better location, I'm sure we would be happy
to entertain it - and by "we", I mean the whole chapter.

Were we in Portland, I'd suggest Laurelhurst Park. But we're not.

Some of the downtown parks such as Carter Park and the park where all the
concerts are held - its name escapes me at the moment - are
less-than-desirable from a clientele perspective and, in any event,
pavilions are at a premium.

But come up with another suggestion and let's bat it around.

Les,

I have some concerns about the location of the social. Hazel Dell Park is
located on 68th. There is no bus service going down this street. From Hwy.
99 (bus 37) it is a mile and a half walk to the park. From St. Johns Rd.
(bus 25) it is a 1/2 mile walk to the road. Sixty-eighth is a two lane road
with no sholder, no sidewalk and no bike lane. This is not a safe road to
be walking on.

Julie

Hello all just wanted to let the people that weren't at the meeting today
that we are having a picnic in August the 18th at Hazel dell park I'll give
you the address when it gets closer. We will start at 10:30 with a short
meeting then we will have KFC and anything that all of you bring. I don't
remember who the coordinator is for that but whoever it is please post so
everyone will know who to contact about what they will need to bring. Also
the October meeting will be tabled because of our fall state convention
which will happen on the same weekend October 19th and 20th so I think that
that was all I was supposed to let everyone know. and for those who
weren't there this morning you were missed and one lucky person who wasn't
there was elected to a very important office and the chapter can't survive
without your function. your president Les F
