Subject: [CCARC] Repeaters off-air

Last night around 5-6pm, the CRESA Livingston Mountain site took a lightning
hit and the W7AIA repeaters (2M, 220, 440) and the CCARES/RACES PACKET BBS
went off the air along with all of CRESA's equipment that includes some WSP
and PUD radios. Checking with CRESA this morning, their techs are still
working to restore their equipment.

We are in a holding pattern until their equipment is back on line at which
time if our equipment does not come back up on its own, we will make a trip
up there to see the status firsthand. There is very little room in the
facility for more than one or two people to be working and right now the
CRESA techs clearly have the priority. All we know now is that power has
been restored to the facility.

We still have the Yacolt 440 repeater to work with along with all the other
traffic repeaters which seem to have survived the weather event if needed
during this downtime of our primary and secondary repeaters.

This event brings up some interesting questions that we will be looking at
in the near future. If you have any thoughts to share, send me an email.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
