Thanks. I'll look for zinc oxide on the label.

Hello Jo Elizabeth,
My son use to get lots of heat rashes when we lived in Tucson. For me, less
clothes and a more natural rash cream with the zinc oxide was key. It's
that zinc oxide that really helps the rash go away but don't go cheep on the
rash cream or you'll get added chemicals and perfumes that just make the
skin worse. I like Avalon rash cream or Aveeno organic. For in between
cream applications you could do a little natural coconut oil which is a
natural antibiotic but this will be more soothing and not really a remedy to
get rid of that rash. I'd be really careful with what types of soaps touch
the skin as well since there are so many out there that would act as an
irritant.
Hope you get rid of that rash soon because I know how horribly frustrating
those can be for our kids.
Erin

Thanks, I'll keep the baking soda remedy in mind.

Maybe it's not a heat rash. I had something like that and I too thought it
was heat rash and it turned out to be ring worm. Which is not a worm at
all, but a virus that goes in a circle. You need special lotions and creams
to get rid of it.
If you want to try an old rememdy, make a paste out of baking soda and rub
it on, it heals heat rash, if that doesn't work, call your Dr. and let them
look at it. It could also be chicken pox. Kids ge the vaccine for it, but
they can still get a mild case of it.

Hi. I’m wondering if any of you can help me. My daughter has gotten a
persistent heat rash on her back, and some on her sides over the rib cage.
I’ve tried extra washing. I’ve tried Lubriderm lotion, which is free of
dyes and perfumes. I’ve tried Noxeema, Vaseline, Cortisone-10, and baby
powder. I’ve encouraged my daughter to sleep topless so her skin can
breathe. The rash itches, and then my daughter scratches at it and gets it
all scabbed up. Is there a remedy I’m missing?
