Greetings!

My name is Daryl Swinson. I served in the U.S. Army from 1981 to 1985 as an
Electronic Warfare/Voice Signal Interceptor (Russian). The MOS for that is
98GOLF. I did Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC, Alpha-5-1 if it matters,
at the bottom of Tank Hill. After that, I was at the Defense Language
Institute, DLI, in Monterey, California for a year, learning Russian. Next
came additional training at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX for about 2
months or so, followed by Military Intelligence training at Fort Devens, MA.
That was pretty short, just a few weeks. I already had orders for the 18th
Airborne Corps at Fort Brag, but my entire class got diverted to Field
station Augsburg, in West Germany. I was at FSA for 2 and a half years or
so, working at the Gablingen Kasern, part of 1st Operations Battalion and on
several Tricks/Shifts/Platoons until I was medically discharged for eye
problems in late 1985.

That's my military career in a nutshell, just as an intro. Hope this list
is interesting! *GRIN*

Daryl Swinson.
