Hi,
I am now taking Medical Transcription with an online course. In my
experience, you may need to still hire readers and scan books and such. I
like it very much. I would be more than happy to answer any of your
questions that I may know. You can reach me at:

Hope to hear from you.

Subject: [Blindtlk] Seeking Advice on Online Education
Good Afternoon,
First of all, I apologize profusely if I have posed this question here
before. I have been considering this possibility off and on for quite
some time, and I honestly can't remember whether I have sought direction
from this list or not.
I am simply wondering whether there are any of our listers who have
taken college courses online, and how productive your experiences have
been.
Do you still need to hire readers and so forth, or is everything you
need there online?
As I work full time, I honestly don't believe I have the time, or the
stamina to go three to four times a week and spend the evening in a
college classroom setting. But I am thinking that I might be able to
manage the online route, at least as far as the time factor goes.
Does anyone know whether the online route is feasible/accessible for a
blind person to navigate. Would be curious to know what others'
experiences have been with this.
I am in my forties, and haven't been to college, so I haven't' a clue
where to start. Any info would be appreciated.
