[Blindtlk] PACmate Dilemma

Hi Guys,
 
I'm wondering if someone might be able to help with a Pacmate problem I
am having.  I actually haven't used this one in a really long time, but
have recently had more reason to do so.  It is about five years old.
 
The problem I am having is that it keeps locking up on me.  This usually
happens when I unplug and transfer it, but it has happened a couple of
other times too.  At these times, the only way I can get it running
again, is to push that reset button in the back, which of course, puts
me back at the starting gate, and deletes all of my stored information.
Does anyone know why this might be happening, or if there might be
something I am doing wrong.
 
I have tried calling freedom scientific, but the customer service rep I
got was very short with me, and acted almost like I was bothering him,
and wasn't helpful with my Pacmate issues at all.  So... any information
I can get would be appreciated.
