[Blindtlk] speaking of transit

You're right about that, Joseph. It's my opinion that people get hung up on
the semantics of Dr. Jernigan's message and not the messages themselves.
I've heard some paratransit services referred to on another list as
"parastrandit." In some situations, that really fits. I was fortunate that
wasn't the case when I had to use it in Wyoming as that was my only means of
transportation to get to work. I had very decent service and wouldn't
complain about it.

Right on David!

The NFB is about the right and responsibility to choose for ourselves what
we will do with our lives and how we will do it. That includes the right
to make the wrong choices according to others--even other blind people.

The thing that looks less independent isn't necessarily so. Have we
gotten so hung up on Jernigan's words that we've begun to forget his
message?
