Dear All,
The fares are set by the local transit system and their local government.
It really depends on how well off they are.
Half fares are based on the assumed income status of the class of rider that
they are being offered to.
Most Blind, disabled and seniors are living on a fixed income, most young
people are working and their income is not fixed and usually goes up until
the age of 65.
That is why people are given a fare adjustment.
You can cram as much money as you want into the fare box, we always accept
donations.
