Well, one thing I'll say is this.  Back when Time Warnner was operating the 
cable system which is now run by Comcast in my area, the cable never went 
out at all.  Always there.

I guess you know that DSL is more secure then cable?
I used to have comcast, the customer service was really bad, but It's been 5
years since I used them.
with cable you share your connection with everyone in your area, I have AT&T
my self, It's cheaper then cable, but cable is much faster with the
internet.
Also If you get a phone with them, If the cable goes out, then so does your
phone.
that's my take on It.
