Dave,

Salt being heavier than pepper doesn't tell you how full the shakers are,
particularly those heavy glass ones you see at some restaurants.  There
are other reasons to sprinkle into your hand rather than directly on your
food to control how much salt and/or pepper you apply to your food.

I continue to wonder if the governor does know how to use a cane and has
simply elected not to so that he doesn't "look blind".  People tell me
that I don't look blind when I do use a cane, so..  (I'm still not sure
how one manages to "look" blind or not.)
