Hello Marion and listers,

Mrs. Bickler deserves lots of respect and understanding from all of us for
responding to the article posted on these lists concerning that reporters
comments. She's clearly one who is willing to put the goals and aspirations
of the organization ahead of her own, and to stand up and clarify what was
said so we all know who the real guilty party was in this situation. I was
faced with a similar situation several months ago and needed to put the
greater good of the NFB ahead of my own desires so our work could continue
to move foreword.

Dear Fellow NFB members,

I am deeply sorry for the misunderstanding that the Williston   Herald had
printed in there newspaper.  I am not and have never been against Guide
dogs.  The quote that I said to zack (the reporter) was That the white cane
and Guide dogs have helped us make it to where we are not co dependent

My Vice president is a guide dog user and I love her dog.  I believe that
what ever tool works for you to maintain your independents use it.  Another
thing is my Daughter has a service dog.  No it is not the same as a guide
dog but she needs it just as we need a cane or a guide dog. SO no I am not
against the guide dog or there users.  I will be posting a note to the
editor and I will email zack and let him know how disappointed I am in this
matter.
