Josh,
Did you get in touch with someone at the National Center, to ask for help?
If so, they should know all about what has happened, today.
Cindy

Subject: [Blindtlk] child protection services update and other issues
Hi,
Ok, Here's what happened today. We went to the hospital and Aaron was
discharged and allowed to go home with us. But now we have a new problem.
And the problem is that my wife's dad has had issues in the past concerning
cps. Therefore, cps told us that we cannot live with them and that he can
only have supervised visits with our child. So, we called my wife's mom's
mom or my wife's grandmother and asked to move in with her down the street.
And cps approved that. So now they're moving a lot of our stuff, but not all
to her grandmother's house. So, first they threaten to take our child away
and then they force us to move out against our will because my wife's dad
has a history with cps. Now, here's where the other issue comes in. In this
house, in my mother-in-law's house where the computers are, where my wife's
dad lives and my wife's mom lives, even if my wife's dad wanted to do
something to the child it would be nearly impossible because he is severely
disabled due to an accident which happened a few years ago. My wife and I
live in an apartment downstairs. And the baby will be downstairs mostly with
us. And when he is upstairs, he will be with us. Now, if we move in to my
wife's grandmother's house, we won't have the computers to use to write
articles with, and take surveys. Writing articles and taking online surveys
is currently our only way to earn a little extra money on the side of what
we get with SSI which isn't very much. My wife and I don't appreciate being
forced to move against our will, leaving behind the only tools that keep our
minds occupied during the day, entertain us, and make it possible to earn a
bit of extra cash each month. Nor do we want our child taken away. They said
if we don't cooperate they'll take our child. Well, the cps caseworker
called and said we've been cooperative so far. And you know what's happening
right now? I'll tell you! right now my wife's mother is taking care of our
child and bottle feeding him while my wife takes a bath. And if we live at
her grandmother's house, and we want to use the computers it'll be extremely
difficult because we can't bring the baby up here, according them, not even
to the apartment because there's a chance a 60-year old severely disabled
person will come down here and mollest him or something like that. That's
what cps thinks apparently. So first our child has been threatened to be
taken away and now we're forced to move against our will! I hate this! My
life, my wife's life, our babies life just seems to be getting worse and
worse! We don't want to move! if we move down there, that means we don't
make the extra cash we may need to buy our baby the things he needs. because
we won't have our computers. Oh, and my mother bought my wife and I a double
bed a few months ago, if we move down there to her grandmother's house then
that investment of my mother's will have been pretty much a waste of money.
I don't want to move! I want my wife and I to be able to stay in this
apartment until we can somehow make the money to move out and get a place of
our own! We don't want to move! we need to make that extra hundred or in the
case of my wife, 400 or 500 dollars a month to pay for what our baby needs!
And my wife is in a lot of pain right now after her stitches. So she is not
able to sit at a computer for long periods of time yet and continue working.
But I can. But if we move to her grandmother's my hands are tied and hers
will be too once she's better because the computers are there in our
apartment, and we would be at her grandmothers. And we'd have to take turns
coming to the apartment here to use the computers. I don't want to split up
our little family if I can help it! I don't want to move to her
grandmother's house. I like her grandmother. But that's not the issue. The
issue is we're being forced to move out against our will and not given any
time to prepare for it. And it's all child protection services fault! it's
cps's fault! It's all their fault! they're making our lives hell and I want
it to stop! I can't take much more of this!
