Dear All,
I know this message is off-topic for one of the lists to which this is posted (NAGDU), however, I also believe that there may be someone on that and other lists that may be able to help. Ashley Skellinger and I are responsible for writing the position paper for the Florida Affiliate's effort to pass an amendment to Florida's "Blind Persons Literacy & Education Act" to include the presumption of Braille. We have found some excellent research comparing reading speeds and performance on standardized tests; however, we have not been able to find any statistics comparing vocational outcomes for blind Braille users vs. non-Braille users. I have searched the NFB's web site and done several Google searches and still have been unable to locate this information.
does anyone know if such a study has been conducted and, if so, where it can be found? If you can help, please send a message off-list to
president at blind411.org
My deadline for this position paper is Saturday! I know this is short notice, but I have not been able to locate this information. any research would be greatly appreciated!

Fraternally yours,
