That's what I'm saying for myself. I believe it would be traumatic for me
as well. Perhaps it's because of my age that I don't have that desire for
one of those implants. It wouldn't be worth the effort for me personally.
Unless the effects of sight loss from diabetes could be reversed, I can't
see putting myself through that only to face the possibility of losing it
again.

I have been totally blind since birth. I have mixed feelings about wanting
to see. I do totally understand those who have seen before wanting to see
again. If I were younger I might take the chance, but as a senior I find
that the trauma of learning to see may not be worth the effort. There
sighted friends and relatives who do not understand my position.
