>Subject: [NFBAffiliatePresidents] While PAC-ing for Convention
>
>Greetings to all of you who are going to this year's annual convention in Atlanta!
>
>While you are PAC-ing for the convnention, I wanted to remind you about our PAC Program. This program allows us to give a specified amount from our bank accounts each month which goes into the general treasurery of the National Federation of the Blind. We raise over $360,000.00 a year on this program and the sky is the limit. The minimum amount is $5.00 a month, less than a cost of a beer at the Marriott Marquis, and there is no upper limit.
>
>We can take money out of any bank account which permits withdrawls. Here is what we need. We prefer a voided check from the account. However, if you don't have that, we can use the account number and your bank's routing number also known as the "ABA" number. T?his is a public number and not specific to your account. YOu can get that number off your checks or by calling your bank. If you ahve the account number and the routing number, we can sign you up on PAC. For those who want to increase their pledges at convention, all we need you to do is sign the PAC form.
>
>We will be operating a number of contests at the Convention. First, those who raise their pledge will be entered into a drawing for $150.00 to take place on Friday afternoon as well as those who start a new pledge. There will be a drawing for each catagory, raised pledges and new pledges.
>
>Second, the stae affiliate who raises itsthe montly pledges most throughout the convention will receive the PAC Rat.
>
>Third, when you either raise your pledge or sign up a new one, you will be asked if you would like to give credit to a NFB division, the lawyers, for example. ((a random suggestion on my part) This is a credit in name only. We do it to see which division can convince the most people to start a pledge or raise their pledge. Any way, the division with the most activity will receive the PAC Muel.
>
>Third, the affiliate which has the greatest monthly percentage increase at the convnention will receive the PAC-hyderm. This award encourages smaller affiliates to get their pledges up.
>
>Finally, at the Board meeting, I will present the Alpaca Award. This is for the affiliate who has raised their PAC pledge the most in the last year, from June 1, 2006, through May 31, 2007. Many affiliates indicated to me that they did most of their work at state conventions etc. So, we will recognize those efforts.
>
>I look forward to seeing all of you at convnention. I hope your PAC-ing goes well.
>PACfully yours,
