Morning Joyce!
Are you putting together a list of everyone's "speciality"? I can teach
macrame, crocheting, knitting, etc. It would be incredible to have our
works displayed, and maybe even for sale, at National. Right now I am knee
deep in pottery!!!

HI Joyce:

I found myself very excited when I read on Blindtlk about the 50 respondents
to your call for this newdivision. I have been dreaming about this for a
long time, and I have some very good idieas to tmake this division a success
I'd love to talk with you about it.

My name is Laurie Porter and I am from The Madison Wisconsin area. I am a
self-employed maker and seller of bead woven Native American style handbags
and tapestries gem stone jewlery. I've been doing this for over 10 years
and it is my livelihood. In addition to the jewlery, my partner and I make
over 75 kinds of jams and jellies and we sell them exclusively at several
farmer's markets in the Madison area. We are in the process of creating a
website so people can order our products as well as wholesaling to stores
nationwide. Unfortunately, due to the growing season, this time is my
busiest so I am unable to attend national conventions. I've been to several
and I miss being able to go. Have you begun the process of chartering the
new Division? If you'd like to chat about this, you can call at: 608 873
9443. I can be best reached in the evening. My dream for a new division
involves the possible forming of a crafter's gallery and/or silent auction
or exibition at National Convention and perhaps some work shops, a website
and a forum or message board or if we are really industrious some informal
classes taught either by voice or text chat or by email. The crafts I'd like
to learn are: Glass fusion and glass blowing, crocheting and macromay.
fabric weaving using a loom. In exchange, I can offer the following crafts
to demonstrate and possibly teach: beaded purses woven with sead beads using
both loom and off-loom stitches. Basic drilling a cutting of gems, and
jewlery design.

I look forward to keeping in touch about this.

Thanks,,
Laurie Porter
