Personally, I'm quite happy being blind. I like to know there are options out there if I wish to partake of them. Saying people aren't comfortable with their blindness so they use such implants etc. is a very black and white assertion. Mayhaps that is true, but people should have freedom of choice. Someone shouldn't be denegrated for choosing to try to see if that is what they want. No one knows another's heart and I'd like to think a person's choices should be respected. Now would I want a _cure_ for blindness...no not personally. Would I try to see if given a chance? Frankly, I'm not sure. Possibly not, since re-learning how to see would be quite traumatic and strange (especially since they couldn't replicate how I saw before). Yet to bar someone from that chance, or letting someone experience that opportunity (even if it's for a short duration) shouldn't be frowned upon in my mind. It would just be anohter of many enriching experiences that one could learn from.
That's what all experiences are, anyway. I do believe one should accept themselves and feel empowered to be proud of who they are. I am an individual who's blind, gay, mentally ill etc. But those things aren't me. I am Chrissie a person whohappens to be these things. They are not me.

That's my 2 cents anyway. Some may find them wrong but that's also the beauty of humanity, the option to disagree and listento others' views and grow.
Peace,
Chris
