[Blindtlk] Text Based Internet

Just a note of historical interest. In the old days when the web was first
developed, around the early 1980s, it was text-based. And there was a
text-based browser called Lynx. This was before the average person had ever
heard of the Internet. Mostly geeks, academicians, researchers, and
computer enthusiasts knew the web existed. But over time, as more people
learned about the Internet and began using it, all the many possibilities
were realized. Web sites with all kinds of graphics were introduced and
browsers that could display the graphics were developed. People warned
there would be accessibility issues, but that did not stop the entrepreneurs
and dot com boomers.
