If you ask me, your need is clouding your judgment. If he's in real
estate and isn't salaried (i.e., working out of an office), he's on
commission and while, like any salesperson, he has to hustle, if he's
really interested, he can take time off. Look at it this way: you're
worth it. If he doesn't think so, he isn't worth your time.
And you say your dad has nothing better to do. It seems to me that's his
call to make, not yours.
It seems to me you and your family are being asked to do all the work in
this deal and your love-interest has to do nothing. What's wrong with
this picture?
