[Blindtlk] Christmas Movies

Hello Ray and listers,

We have that version in our video collection too. It's considered to be the
classic version of A Christmas Carol for the reasons you gave. We were drawn
to the 1984 version starring George C. Scott from having seen it on
television, and by being able to purchase it with DVS. If it's not the most
faithful to the book it's a close second.

Got news for y'all. There is no more accurate interpretation of the story
"A Christmas Carol" than the 1951 movie version which stars Allister Sims as
Scrooge. That version is the most faithful to the book which there ever
was. There has never been a better version before or since.

Sincerely yours,
The Constantly Barefooted,
Ray

Hello Judy and listers,

And don't forget to gather the family around the radio, or the home
theater to listen to the Campbell Playhouse's Production of A Christmas
Carol starring Orson Wells, and Lionel Barrymore. As for the film side of
Christmas there's Miracle On 34th Street, A Christmas Carol starring George
C. Scott as Scrooge, and It's a Wonderful Life with none other than Jimmy
Stewart as George Bailey, and Lionel Barrymore as the villainous Mr. Henry
S. Potter. We'll be watching It's A Wonderful Life later tonight as I just
bought it on DVD this afternoon. In the animation department How the Grinch
Stold Christmas stands head and shoulders above them all with Rudolph the
Red Nosed Reindeer, (The 1964 version) by it's side. Concerning recent
Christmas movies The Polar Express will be chugging in to an I-Max theater
near you soon if it's not there all ready. We're anticipating the launch of
The Nativity Story and plan to see it once it begins playing. It's supposed
to begin playing in theaters on December First. A wonderful topic for a
future Christmas film would be one about a little known event that occurred
during World War I; the Christmas Truce of 1914. The History Channel
produced a documentary about it, but it would be a great topic for a
full-length holiday movie.

Hi, Kasondra and list,

Another thing we do is--Chris and I are Oldtime radio fanatics, and each
year we listen to The Cinnamon Bear. You can download at www.rusc.com.
There may be other places, too, am not sure. However, it's a kids serial
that was first aired in 1937, and you listen to an episode a day, which
finishes on Christmas Eve.

I'll admit it, it's easy to be a kid at heart around Christmas.

Judy
