Ray and all,
I had trouble with the link in the e-mail Dave Andrews forwarded. Even
cutting and pasting the link in my browser wouldn't work.
So, I went back to the link in the original e-mail that you, Ray,
forwarded to the list, cut and pasted the link into my browser and it
worked.
For those who deleted Ray's original e-mail it is below and contains
the link that worked for me. The survey isn't long and it's great to
get a chance to comment. So, I hope the link works for everyone this
time.
Regards,
Heather Field

Hi guys,
Sorry to those of you who don't like these kinds of messages or who
may not
be interested, but I just wanted to get this out in case maybe you
knew
someone who would be. The message explains it all, but if we all act
and
give our opinions, we may actually love the radios of our future. I
filled
it out and it is very easy. If any of you need any help, but would
still
like your voice to be heard, let me know and I'll help all I can.

Subject: [IAAIS] FW: call for information - radio accessibility
If you were not aware of the work being done to ensure that the new
class of
HD radios are useful and accessible to our constituents, please read
down to
learn about an on line survey to gather vital user-input. I am asking
everyone to follow the link to the survey for visually impaired radio
listeners and give feedback via this survey. It is NOT an IAAIS led
effort;
however, it is being done parallel to IAAIS efforts to ensure that
manufacturers begin making accessible radios. Please note that the
deadline
for the surveys is December 20th.
Thanks to Hal Kneller for making sure that we learned about the survey
and
getting us the invitation to participate. Please accept my apologies
for
being slow to circulate this important note. I will be attending the
meeting in Las Vegas where the results of this "wish list" survey will
be
discussed with manufacturers. I would be happy to carry your personal
comments with me to that meeting.
Lastly, if you participate in other blindness organizations which have
email
lists, please pass along the original email and attachment. This is
one of
those situations where numbers of responses mater a great deal.
Thanks!
Dave Noble

do
so. I am not set up on there.

Hi Hal,
This is the "call for information" we are sending to interested
parties.
Feel free to pass this on to anyone who would like to participate!
Best,

Greetings!
National Public Radio Labs, along with partner WGBH National Center
for
Accessible Media, has been awarded a 3-year grant from NIDRR to
prototype
and field test technologies and services to be included in the next
generation of commercial digital receivers that will best serve
consumers
with sensory disabilities. We are currently in the first phase of this
grant - seeking out information from the "user community" about the
types of
features and technologies that should be considered for inclusion into
the
next generation of digital radios.
As a first step in this process, we would like to invite you and your
constituents to tell us about the kinds of products, services,
features and
technologies you would like to see included in the next generation of
radios. In order to facilitate this process, we have developed a
questionnaire that we would very much appreciate you completing and
returning by December 20th. You can go to
