Hi Everyone,
I hope that you had a wonderful holiday break, and that you are starting to
get ready to get back to work and/or school!! I don’t know about you, but
it’s hard for me to think about work, but then again since I love my work,
it’s a little easier for me than some.
I’ve attached our latest reminder (below my signature) to our POSB STEM
Google Group, which Sara Larkin and I still maintain after all these years.
We now have over 280 members. We’ve come a long way since 2011!! We also
have a website now, so that should be very helpful. You do not have to be a
POSB STEM Google member to attend/present/exhibit at the 2025 POSB STEM
Institute, but you do need to fill out your presenter/exhibitor proposal
form by next Friday, January 10th. Attendees have more time. If you would
like to become a member of our little listserv, just email me privately and
let me know that you support the teaching of the STEM subjects to students
who are blind or low vision, and I’ll sign you up. There is no cost.
Best wishes and Happy New Year!
Susan
The planning committee for the 2025 POSB STEM Institute for Instruction is
hoping all of you had a wonderful holiday break. The Institute will be here
before we know it. It is being hosted by the California School for the
Blind and CATT-NW on April 8-10 in Fremont, CA. The deadline for
presentation and exhibitor proposals is one week from today – January 10,
2025!! Jeepers, we all thought that was so far away – next year right!?
Next year is here folks!! We promise – the form is very simple to fill out.
Also, a big thank you to all those who have submitted their proposals. They
are fantastic!!!
We are excited to see all of you! This is always a great opportunity to
share and learn with others who have a love for science, technology, and
mathematics education for students who are blind or visually impaired!
We have put together a website with lots of information, including the link
to RSVP and the link to submit a presentation or vendor proposal. We will
continue to update this site as we get closer to the Institute. This will
allow you to have everything in one place. You can find the website at
https://sites.google.com/iaedb.org/posbsteminstitute/.
There will be no registration fee, and we were able to get a hotel block
for only $95/night plus taxes and fees, including breakfast at the hotel.
We will not be providing breakfast at the event center. The official
registration will come out after January 31st, once we have reviewed the
presentation proposals and finalized the schedule.
Please forward this email to anyone you think may be interested in
attending. This Institute is open to all! We hope to see you April 8-10,
2025 in Fremont, CA!
Thanks,
The 2025 POSB STEM Institute for Instruction Planning Committee
