Greetings:

I am pleased to announce that the National Association of Blind Lawyers will be conducting a day long training seminar for blind and visually impaired attorneys to be held at the National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute in Baltimore. The seminar for blind and visually impaired attorneys will be part of the first ever Jacobus tenBroek Law Syposium taking place on April 11th at the Institute.

Thomson West is helping to sponsor our training and will be providing training on WestLaw for approximately half of the day long session. The training will be specifically targeted on using WestLaw with assistive technology. The other half of the day will be spent on exploring other technologies and substantive law issues. We are intentionally limiting attendance to this event so that blind/visually impaired attorneys can receive more individualized training. The Institute is equipped with a computer lab which has several fully accessible computer stations from which participants will be able to try personally that which is being taught. CLE credits will be offered for both this training and the Symposium.

The cost for the training and the syposium are $150.00 each. However, if you wish to attend both events, the total cost will be reduced to $250.00. Young lawyers and law students in their second and third years are invited to attend. A limited number of scholarships will be made available. Additionally, we have reserved a block of hotel rooms in the area for both this training and the Symposium.

Those interested in this opportunity should contact me at the information below. Soon we will have a more formal announcement which will be distributed more wifely. However, I wanted to give subscribers to this list the first opprotunity to apply.
