[blindlaw] Home buying help

I believe there's a Federal program that provides low-interest mortgages
with relaxed income and asset requirements to disabled persons --
there's such a program in Washington, anyway. However, the fly in the
ointment is that the houses eligible for such mortgages are out in the
rural areas or less-populated suburbs where public transportation is
minimal or nonexistent, making such subsidized mortage mortgage programs
impractical at best for the blind.

I was wondering if anyone new of any federal or state (in my case
California) programs for persons with disabilities to help purchase a
home?
Thanks,
M~
