Gerard:

As far as lawyers, each of the 50 states and the other jurisdictions
within the United States has its own bar association which is
responsible for disciplining its members. Below as an example is a link
to the discipline process for my bar association the Washington State
Bar Association.

Thankfully, I know nothing about the process from personal experience.

Subject: Re: [blindlaw] Information on Disciplinary procedures:

Hello all,

I am currently doing a thesis on disciplinary procedures in the legal
profession and the professions more generally.

If any one knows of any works on the subject in the U.S., or could
suggest any information or sources of same on this I would be really
greatful.

How, e.g. is the u.s. legal profession regulated?

  What about doctors?

  etc.

  Thanks
  Gerard
